19961208 HFSMAS Holiday Nutcracker 1996

 

In the 1970's-2000's there was an independent radio station in the area, 99.1 WHFS. This station played new rock music. It was billed as Alternative music. But it's only alternative until it becomes popular. Some of the performers were flash in the pan, others tour to this day. The line up for this show went like this.

• The Lemonheads
• Sebadoh
• Emmet Swimming

We rolled out during Emmet Swimming, to my knowledge, just not good. One funny moment was during the Jewel setlist. She said the one thing that opens up the crowd to all kind of strange requests. She asked us, 'What song do you want to hear?' I screamed out the request everyone should know, FREEBIRD!  She heard this and got a laugh out of it.

This show is definitely one of my top-10 shows of all time. I had a really good time, and was really into the bands that were performing.
