19950114 Voters for Choice/Pearl Jam

I had become a big fan of Pearl Jam since their release of Ten, but just had not been able to see them. Now I get my chance! The purpose of this group was to keep abortion legal. I don't want to get into the whole politics, I was there for the music. I took my co-worker and good friend, Russ Doyen, to the show, as he was also a big PJ fan and he was bright enough to separate the music from the politics and enjoy the show. The was not the last of a series of concerts that Russ and I would attend together over the next 5-6 years.
To get tickets for the show, you were required to mail a post card and they would contact you of how to pickup your tickets. To mail the post card it cost $0.25 each. I spent $25 and printed my information on postcards and sent 100 postcards. It worked out! You had to go the afternoon of the show to pickup the tickets, then go back later for the show. As you can see, these were $25 tickets. On the way out I was offered $200 each for my two tickets. I refused because I really wanted to see the show.
The songs that were performed at the show basically avoided the 'hits' of the artists. I was less than impressed with Neil Young, but that was the show.
