Happy Birthday Cathy! We went to the Tom Petty concert on her birthday. As it would turn out, this would be our last concert together. A couple weeks later, she moved out and started seeing her future husband. I wasn't husband material, actually I didn't want to marry at that time. This is a goal of a lot of people, just not my goal.
About the concert, GREAT show! For this tour, Tom Petty had kind of a story teller role. He would give a story about the song and then go into it. Not every song, but a lot of them. It added depth to the show and a background on each song was helpful. This tour was promoting Into the Great Wide Open which was his first album since 1987. The songs do show more maturity and more of an understanding of the human condition.
