19951205-06 Springsteen

Bruce released his second solo album, The Ghost of Tom Joad in 1995. Bruce was in the middle of finding himself, he had a growing family, the music industry was changing, his fanbase was growing older, and he had to get these songs out of his head.
About acquiring the tickets. I took Dave and my father-in-law with me to Baltimore to buy tickets at the Baltimore Arena. Basically buying tickets where people are not around. This was a show in DC, so fewer people would be buying them in Baltimore, it worked out well. We got a few pair of tickets. I sold some, and it paid for me to go to the show. One of the guys that I sold a pair lived out near Frederick. For some reason he couldn't drive, so I actually drove the tickets to him. He had the most amazing collection of Springsteen memorabilia. I wish I could remember his name. He even had one of Bruce's high school year books. This guy was dedicated. He did give me a cassette with a recent show Bruce did at Trade Winds in NJ. This was about two weeks after the show.
Now about the shows. Bruce asked for quiet during his performance and for the most part got it. It's interesting to watch the evolution of Bruce's music. You can't put Bruce in a corner tat's for sure. I enjoyed the shows and it was the first time I saw an artist play multiple shows in a single city. But it would not be the last!
